November 8, 2010

Its been a month since I have last been here, can you believe the weather is still awesome. Flowers are still blooming, Just so you can appreciate this , I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, affectionately known as winterpeg. This flower photo was taken on Nov. 7, 2010 pretty amazing for us. Christmas is coming, I always get the Christmas spirit early and by the time its upon us I am so done with it. Although I always seem to do Christmas eve shopping, which I really do hate. I never used to procrastinate. That crazy retriever of ours is still swimming at the dog park. He's braver than I.

Trees

The Hanging Tree
This photo is from little mountain park in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. It is very old and legend has it that it was used for public hangings. That is not quite why I am thinking trees though. It is fall and I read some interesting articles about trees and people. We have a symbiotic relationship to them, as a tree exhales oxygen, we inhale, and as we exhale carbon dioxide, the tree inhales. It seemed to be such a beautiful connection. "i thank you God for the leaping greenly spirits of trees" e.e.cummings. Does anyone know what comes next?

pictures of falltime at the dog park

Dreamtime

With autumn here and winter approaching we come to the time of introspection. Look deep inside to your roots and gather your strength around you. We spent two hours at the dog park today. The colours, scents, and sounds of fall were in the air. It was a glorious day. Thank you fixit and Lucy.  Miss Lucy was even catching feathers from some poor bird, whose fate I do not know.

Beautiful, glorious autumn!!

This is a look at one of the dog parks we sometimes go to for a change. Little Mountain Park, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Winnipeg has the largest urban forest in north America. It is a beautiful city, most streets are tree lined (both sides) so it seems that you are driving through green tunnels. There are acres of park grounds and in our case, thank goodness, acres of dog park grounds!

Mandala

Add caption
My first attempt at a mandala. Everything means something, a little from all the directions, north, south, east and west. Seems a little busy and messy, I guess it is a reflection of inner self.
